Update #4

The event is done and I more or less survived. It was a very tough series of rides but I am really pleased that I made it up some of the most challenging climbs in the French Alps - many of which were done in this year's Tour de France, including Col D'Izoard, Col du Lauteret, Col du Galibier and Col de L'Iseran. In addition we did Col de la Bonette, which is one of the highest paved roads in Europe. The scenery was stunning and the spirit in the team was fantastic. However, the main thing is that we are getting close to our target total of 10,000€, so every little extra will help.

Why Bicycles for Education
We at Salesforce strongly believe that business is the greatest platform for change. And with that in mind, we will be organizing an exciting Fundraising bike ride this summer for a worthy cause: "World Bicycle Relief" an organization committed to helping individuals overcome the barrier of distance and have better access to education, health care, and livelihood through the Power of Bicycles in rural parts of the world.

For students in rural Africa, a bike is a life-changing tool that helps increase attendance, improve performance, and help students show-up ready to learn. Please consider supporting us for this fundraising Bike ride as we work to transform communities in Africa through the Power of Bicycles.

For the recipients, it is more than just a bike. It is a tool for economic and cultural empowerment.

A contribution of €134 / $147 puts a brand new Buffalo Bicycle into the hands of a student fighting for her education. With our goal of raising €10,000 in donations, every Euro/Swiss Franc/Pound will make a difference!
